It’s sick!

I liked having an ongoing list of things I did to my VAIO. So, I’m going to start that again here for this computer:

  • Installed Office 2007 Home and Student
  • Installed Picasa 3
  • Installed HyperCam 3 Beta
  • Installed Pinnacle Studio 12 I bought it on May13, 2009 as a download. The Serial Number is in the I drive in Downloads/Pinnacle Studio
    • Installed SureThing Labeler that came with it.
    • Installed Instant DVD Recorder that came with it.
  • Installed Trial of VidBlaster used for video camera switching.
  • Installed AVG Free 8.5
  • I moved all personal folders to the E Drive wish is a RAID 0 made up of two one terabyte drives. I have this set up so the drives together should be faster than a single drive.
  • Installed JungleDisk
  • Installed WebcamMax 6.0.1.9 Alpha (Lifetime serial number is in Downloads/WebcamMax). This is a 64 bit version.
  • Installed Audacity
  • Installed QuickTime
  • Installed MPEG Streamclip 1.2 for video conversion. It allows my to take multiple files and convert them into one file.
  • For downloading videos from YouTube, I’ve been using: http://www.savevid.com/
  • Installed S3 Firefox Organizer (S3Fox) for interfacing with Amazon S3
  • Installed Manager for Amazon CloudFront (I think I need CloudFront to serve content on the web)
  • Installed Flash Video MX…the link to the paid copy is in I:\Downloads
  • Installed Foxit Reader for reading PDF’s.
  • Installed Microsoft Vine.
  • Bought and Installed VidBlaster… License is in Downloads/VidBlaster
  • Installed FileZilla
  • Installed Lightroom 2
  • Installed Photomatix Pro for HDR processing of photos.
  • I had a problem networking the office computer, this is what I did:
Go to Control Panel. Choose printer. Then choose Add Printer.
ChooseAdd a local printer. Click on Create a new port. The default in the
drop down box is Local Port. Do not change that. Click Next.
A dialogue box will appear asking for you to enter a port name. Type in the
\\computer name\printer name ie. My computer’s name is basement and the
printer name is EpsonSty so I typed in \\basement\epsonsty”
  • Installed Crimson Editor for text editing.
  • Installed EditPlus (I think I like it better than Crimson).
  • I couldn’t get Fireworks to work on Vista 64. But an old version of Paint Shop Pro is working.
  • I installed the free Microsoft GIF Animator tool.
  • Paint Shop Pro came with Jasc Animation Shop… this looks like a good gif animator.
  • Installed putty.exe
  • Installed WinSCP
